Yea, I read that one. Replacing an engine to fix an oil leak is kinda like using a nuke to remove a stump!

Oil leaks can be a real PITA. Hopefully you will just have a bad gasket on the rite side. This can be replaced without removing the engine. I use a Hylomar non-setting sealant on the gaskets.

I believe you will find that any type of aftermarket filter is going to be noisier. There are small performance gains if you up jet the carb to match the increased airflow. This is more true for the 50cc scoots then the 150's.

It really is the best deal that I can make. there may be better deals out there so shop arround.
I did say that the price is in the crate but if somewone wanted to I would be willing to let them assemble the scoot in my shop with my help and I would make sure its running properly before they left. One condition thouth, they have to take all the garbage with them. You wouldnt believe how much garbage is generated in uncrating and assembling a scoot.

As some of you already know I repair scooters on the side. I also sell a few new ones.
2010 Dash 50 with trunk red or blue for $600.00
2011 Zhang speedy in black, silver, or blue $539.00
Please Note. These prices are $25.00 above my cost. This is in the crate price and shipping is NOT available.
I'm located in Sioux Falls, SD. If your with in driving distance I believe these prices could save you allot of money. Send me a PM if interested.

You could also easily add a volt meter it you wanted to see what the charging system was putting out when running. Even better would be an amp meter. A little different wiring but very doable. I never thought about it but it would be very cool to open the seat on my 150/250 and have a couple of gauges (volts and amps) and a easy hook up for my battery tender.

Welcome. I just made the move myself. I still visit the old neighborhood from time to time as I like the neighbors. This feels like home though..

You should be fine. The valve cover is designed to be reused and unless the gasket on the PARE get really tore up it should be fine also.

This is what I started with. It belonged to a homeless man who dropped it off at my buddy's scooter store last fall and told him " I have no place to store this for the winter. You can have it". There wasn't a single piece of plastic on it that hadn't ben broken. Attachments:

BTW... Thank you for the kind words. Its nice to have someone besides me and the customer I built it for appreciate all the work that went into this project. Not everyone dos. My wife's option..."congratulations, you turned a $1000.00 scooter into a $250.00 mini bike".

No oil cooler as of yet but in about 50 miles of testing its not a problem as long as your moving. I don't think it would survive stop and go traffic.
This is a list of just the engine mods. 52mm NCY big bore kit. Big valve head. NCY performance can (same lift but longer duration). 27mm 150cc intake (stock 50cc is 17mm 150 is 22mm) no plastic spacer used. 150cc carb slow jet drilled out to a #80 drill size and needle raised I notch. Custom exhaust shortened about six inches. Performance CDI Orange performance coil. 9.5 gram Dr Pulley sliders. 1500rpm torque spring. 1000rpm clutch springs.
