Tank Urban 50; Believe the exhaust is partially blocked, perhaps by dirt daubers, but when I went to remove the exhaust it appears to be bolted from inside the engine. How do I remove this? What I see at the flange is just threaded rod or the long end of a bolt with no nut.

Is the throttle cable adjusted to open the throttle all the way? Both ends have adjustment.

Thank you JR, I pretty much know nothing about these things and thought one might be more adjustable or have bigger/smaller capacity. Machine has been setting a couple years and probably i'll run into other things, but the carb was bad then. So that's the start place.

I guess I'm a Moarkie, I can see Ar from up on the hill in front of the house. I know it goes about 28mph right now and still tinkering with the carb. Seems to throtle up awful fast, but I never laid a finger on a scooter before, so don't know what to expect. Took it out the first time away from the farm this evening and did pretty well on the hills, but the longest was only 'bout a 1/4 with a dip half way up so no real test. Some of these roads you want to go real slow on. and some have real steep grades, maybe you know what I mean, livin where you do. Only paved roads around are state and federal hiways and I'm not that brave. Guess longs it don't give me trouble, I won't tear it down right away. Had thought they probly had a standard weight outa the factory and you could advise from there what to order. If I need to weigh them first then I'll do it awhile from now and come back. Now for a rod rack and a fish carrier. Thanks, Trevis

So, my first post is about the '06 tank urban50 that I got recently as a project and maybe a fishing ride. It came with some loose parts and not running, I never touched a scooter before. I read through many posts on this forum and learned what all those mystery parts were and how they work, thanks guys.
Took the water and rust out of the carb, fixed a couple of ground wires, replaced the battery; it runs, it revs. But the wheel doesn't go 'round. The belt in the box of loose parts was not an extra! Read some more, install belt; stuck in high gear. Read again. Take variator apart and clean, reinstall. Shizam! Ride this thing!
Goes pretty good, if I don't turn it over, and here is my question; I'm 220# fat old man and live in the Ozarks any where I go is going to involve a hill or three. Mostly I'll be on un paved roads and traveling 15-25mph with only occasional paved road usage and need for speed. The roller weights show some wear and I thought that when I go back into it, I might improve the ride by using different weights or variator. Read some threads on the subject but I did not learn enough to know what to change, if anything. I believe everything on this scoot is OEM, previous owner is a student and when this didn't run he bought another scooter.
