Hey guys, got a question. Anyone ever had to replace main wiring harness on cfmoto fashion 250t ??. Well the other day my left turn signal would not work, but the right did. Shutting down the scoot the left indicator lamp would stay on dim even with the ignition switch off. I took the entire cowling off and saw the power connection board where all the connectors meet . the first row connector was fried at port 14 and 15 brown and green wire. It was so bad no way of fixing it. Need to purchase board and main wiring harness. Spoke to a very knowledgeable tech guy and was told 2009 model had a defect and after a while board gets shorted out. Does not happen to all of them so I guess I got stuck with the bad unit. I've taken photos of area, anyone wants to see damage let me know and I'll post....

[replyingto=alleyoop]alleyoop[/replyingto]You are not going to believe this.....last night I disconnected the battery and left it off all night long, this morning I went to investigate the problem again and connected the battery. Well to my surprise I turned the key on and everything worked fine. Head light Ok tail lights OK, combo meter OK, turn signals OK, horn OK....... Radio digital display OK, starting engine OK. I did not turn radio on.....( keeping in mind what you said about your radio set-up ). So now what do you think was the problem. Is there an on - board computer that had a glitch in it ?? or has the black cloud moved onto someone else ?

[replyingto=alleyoop]alleyoop[/replyingto]And here is another bit of information....after starting up the scoot and then turning ignition switch off the combo meter still stays on showing zero miles per hour, trip meter shows mileage, gas supply and temp and I hear a click noise when turning key off from from cowling... I'm wondering if there is a relay that is not turning off???

[replyingto=alleyoop]alleyoop[/replyingto]Checked fuse it appeared OK, but just in case I replaced it. Same problem. My feeling is that there is a short somewhere and I'm leaning toward the radio. I do remember turning it on during the ride for a short time. This was an add-on radio I installed several months ago. The way it works is that there is a hot lead going to it for the digital and memory display. To turn radio on the key must be on and radio power button on. If key is turned off radio goes off. Well now after turning key off radio still on.This is why I think there is a short.

Just came back from an hour ride and as I was about to make a turn I put on the turn signal and nothing. Arrived home and checked all fuses, they are OK. No headlight, no horn, no signal lights. Put down kickstand and parking stand light on, but when taking key out light remained on but dim. Key is out yet tail lights are on . I have disconnected battery to save power. Any suggestions.....

Thanks....I hadn't thought about that. What I don't believe is that this scoot has been around for many years and the helix for close to twenty years, and no one has come up with a solution and I love it when a dealer tech says that this is a characteristic of the unit. I've been told that so many times with cars that to me the guy has no knowledge of the problem and tries to pass it off. I think I'm going to spend some money and put in new pads, springs and a bell. If I still have the problem after that, then I will just live with it, but at least I know I've tried everything.

If you re-read my original post, I stated that I scuffed both pads and clutch bell and the problems went away for two weeks or 200 miles and then returned. With my limited knowledge I don't think that is the fix....if it were, then the problem would be resolved. Something else....I failed to mention... my wife had a 1987 Honda helix for several years and put on a great deal of mileage, she never had this problem. I'm thinking with cf moto, either the pads are defective or could the clutch bell be out of round and binds at times causing the problem. That is why I was thinking to replace everything and there again why does Honda have two different pads ( old version and new version ) ? and another note....after running the scoot for a while lets say 25 miles or so the problem is gone ? Could it be something with heat build-up ??

Unable to provide info on RPM's since there is no tach on scooter. Someone recommended changing to Honda helix clutch pads. Seems there are two versions of them old and new ?? also suggestion was to cut 1/16 inch deep lines into pads, I remember in the old days ( 50's ) on a car when brakes squeeled that was a fix that was done

Purchased 2009 cf moto 250 fashion scoot 05/01/13 with 1400 miles. have problem with clutch not grabbing and vibrating at start up until speed is reached, then clutch OK. I took apart clutch bell and noticed dust. Cleaned area, scuffed up pads since they appeared to be crystalized and scuffed bell. After re-installing clutch everything worked perfect. no problems and very smooth. Well that lasted for 2 weeks or 200 miles. Chatter is back and again not grabbing upon start up. At this point I'm frustrated and am thinking of trashing entire clutch assembly and purchase new clutch unit but before doing so I'd like some input. What else can I do to correct problem ? any advise would be appreciated.
