Ok well we got the exhaust and variator restrictors out and are now able to reach 36 mph. Low end acceleration is much improved too. The only tricky part was getting the restrictor out of the exhaust. I googled more about the exhaust funnels and it said to just pry it out of there as the welds should break loose. Well I broke a screwdriver trying to pry it out of there so I took it to a welder/ trailer hitch installer. I gave the mechanic a six pack of beer and in 3 minutes my exhaust was opened! Top speed after the variator washer was removed was around 32mph and after the exhaust restrictor was removed it jumped to 36. Alleyoop was right about it just getting past 35. Thanks for the help everyone Attachments:

Sorry I didn't add it, but it's definitely a 2 stroke auto-lube bike. I dont know what year it is.
That's good to hear that the bike is running correctly per Yamaha, but that still sucks not being able to go past 30.
Anyone know why they restrict them? Emissions? Taxes? Mechanical problems?
Has anyone had any concerns/ issues/ tips after they've de-restricted their bike? Overheating, running lean, belts, weights, wear etc?
Thanks again

A gal I know has a Vino 50cc (4000 miles on it, last serviced at 3000 miles) and she can't get it past 30 mph. (120lb rider). Bike starts great, idles great, decent tires. I figure with her weight she should be able to go faster.
Can any past/ current Vino owners tell me what kind of speeds they are getting? I want to know if it's just the way the bike is, or if there's something wrong with it.
It's been 2 years since I owned a 50cc scooter (Lance Charming 50), but I thought it averaged low 30's (170 lb rider).
Thanks.

I havent cleaned out the CVT the entire time I've owned this bike. I'm second owner and put maybe 300 miles on it.
In addition to valves, spark plug, fluids I was going to change out the drive belt and lube up the kick start. I'll add cleaning the CVT to my 1000 mile maintenance.

Thanks. I'll try silicone spray when I do my 1000 mile service here soon.
Only time I had to use the kick start was when my battery died and that was about 50 kicks worth until I got a replacement battery.

I've got a Lance Venice 150 and the kick start has gotten kind of sticky. It doesn't bounce back like it used to. I was thinking maybe there's some friction where the kickstart parts are held in place by either the crankcase or belt cover.
Does anyone have suggestions to what I can lube the kickstand parts with? Something that won't ruin the drive belt or CVT parts? Silicon spray, WD40, Neverseize, White lithium grease?
The electric start works fine, but I was thinking about it.
Thanks and Happy New Years.
