We bought the 2 piece kind, the one that screws together. Short stubby stem, worked out great!

This is a VERY common problem with these scooters and ethanol. I went to my local cycle shop and got some Star Brite Star Tron Enzyme Fuel Treatment. It stabilizes the ethanol so that it doesn't fall out of suspension, stick to your carb and cause gum up. I've used it for the last 3-4 months and so far no problems. We'll see how she does after the winter sit this year with it. Hope this helps. Happy Scooting!

The clutch sheave had a very poor weld job on it, as you can see by the pictures. We suggested a new belt to the owner since he told us the bike has about 8-9k on it, but his theory is "if it aint broke, don't fix it". Everything looked good in the rear end, when test riding it, I was shocked at the get up and go the little bugger has!! It rivals my 250B on get up and go. ; We got the part for $63 including shipping, thank you tvnacman! We charged 1 hour for labor, so that was another $60 for a total of $123. What do you guys think? Did we treat him fair? I should say that this owner is an "old school" mechanic. He knows enough to be dangerous, his words not mine. LOL He went through the bike, did all the fluid changes and PDI himself when he bought the bike a few months ago. He had no issues with the bike until he noticed the "gravel" sound in the rear end. He doesn't have much money to put into the scoot, but loves it none the less, so we'll do what we can to keep him running.

We ordered a clutch from John for a little Avanti 150cc. I am happy to say it got to us in record time, was exactly the part we needed, and we got it for a very good price! I'll be checking back with you for parts in the future!!

Cool, so the complete clutch assembly has the sheave in it then? If so, it would be cheaper to buy the assembly anyway! LOL

Okay, this is a question from Cathy, not Dwayne. I'm chasing this part while he works on cars. Does the part I need come with the clutch or not?!! I can't find what they call it in any of the pictures I find. Most sites say the "clutch" comes with the clutch and pulley, but no drum. Is this what I need, the pulley right?! The photos are so confusing, show the part on some, not on others on the same site, so I guess I just need to call them and fax them a photo of what we need to be sure we get it. Thanks for the help JR and tvnacman.

Since the bike only has about 2000 miles on it, I'd say you were right JR! This should never have happened. Glad my SugarScoot's a little tougher than that! Stuff like this is what gives these little rice grinders a bad name.

Right now, just the variator weights. Maybe more once we tear into her. ; The rear end was "growling" and then it got bad enough the electric start didn't work, had to kick start. Now it's frozen up/ locked up, even the kick start won't "kick". We haven't got her open to see what all is wrong yet. Trying to find a supplier before we get too far in. Don't want her torn down for too long. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.

I am wondering if anyone has a parts supplier, trusted, for parts for an Avanti GT 150cc scooter? The last time I ordered parts, had a little trouble with the dealer not having the parts in stock and not informing us it would take 4 weeks to come from China! We understand the wait on some of these things, but let your customer know. Anyway, any solid leads on a good parts supplier would be appreciated.

Hi everyone, I wanted to stop in, say hello, let you all know that the PINK 250B is STILL clicking right along! Almost 11,000 miles on her now, 4 riding seasons under our belt, and still loving every mile! Thanks to JR for helping get her weights and belt changed. She hasn't given us any trouble since we got the silicone out of her tank! Still getting about 70MPG. We had to get a new battery this year, duh that's what you get for leaving your battery in the bike all winter with no trickle charge. We'll be looking to replace the muffler soon, she's pretty throaty! She's just a little used, but still got plenty of life left in her. Happy riding to you all!! ;D
