Sorry I haven't piped in sooner, but haven't been checkin' this forum recently. I know you checked the air intake snorkel but make absolutely sure that it is secured properly(airtite) to the air filter box. That snorkel doesn't quite have the right bend in it so it doesn't like staying on the air box. When I tried to pull mine off of the airbox(with the clamp removed) it didn't want to pull off. Found out it had been attempted to be glued to the air box and it was not a pretty job. I reinforced the air box outlet that the snorkel clamps to with a piece of pvc pipe which allowed for tightening the livin' crap out of it so it stays put. I'd hate you to go through all kinds of carb adjustments to find out this was the problem. Good luck and have fun with your new career(keepin' her on the road that is--LOL!).

Hey scooter3, I've got the same trike and have had her body off. I'm assuming you don't have the tilt lock engaged(the lever on the left handlebar). The switches for the body lock are up front by the pin that egages the lock. Sounds to me like you're gonna have to take the windscreen and the front panel off which will give you access to the switches and wiring to see what's up. Let me know how you make out. By the way, if you don't already know from researching this beast, you may be in for a world of "fun" tryin' to keep her on the road and without vibration. Have fun!!!

Hey coji, I've got the same trike and had a previous bout with loss of power(and eventually stalling out) on prolonged full or near full throttle. Is it stalling? Mine turned out to be a defective fuel tank pickup tube(crappy weld inside the tank). Quick way to find out would be to pull fuel line off of tank and cap off nipple then put the fuel line down inside tank(with a spare fuel filter on the end if you've got one) duct tape it in place to cap off tank and hold line, then ride. If that fixes it 1) I'll be shocked!, and 2) pm me and I'll tell you how I fixed it without replacing the tank(but I have a new spare!).

BTW - On that crack, you might try some UV cure clear adhesive. It will wick into the crack, then setup in the sun. The glue found in those $6 to $10 windshield repair kits at Autozone/Walmart etc. Thanks bud! I'll try that ;D

Been busy modifying this beast and here's the final working, I'm happy with, product... As you can see, I had to remove about 5 inches from the bottom to clear the original shield on full lock turns. And yes, if you look closely I did accidentally crack the #@$*ing thing during the trial and error phase(or more accurately, the error phase ). Anyway, if I had to do it over again I MIGHT order the Scoot 66 .amazon.com/Slipstreamer-S-SCOOT66-Universal-Scooter-Windshield/dp/B001EB9WPI" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.amazon.com/Slipstreamer-S-SCOOT66-Universal-Scooter-Windshield/dp/B001EB9WPI which is nearly as wide but not as tall(not sure if it would be tall enough though). The kit comes with adapters for 8mm mirrors and naturally this trike has 10mm mirrors so you have to order the adapter kit. The rods that secure the screen to the trike have to be completely custom bent. I started by heating and straightening them then for the original mount(shown in the previous pics) bent them to 90 degrees at center. After cutting down the shield(and removing the section containing the lower mounting holes) I bent them back toward straight and drilled new mounting holes. Did the cuttin' with a RotoZip spiral saw then smoothed the edge with a belt sander. Repainted the mounting hardware and replaced the crappy aluminum shield fastening screws with stainless buttonhead allen cap screws(side benefit: any yo-yo with a phillips screwdriver can't steal the thing now!). Overall happy with end result(except for crack) but lost about 10 mph of top speed due to increased wind resistance. She didn't want to go above 70 mph last night!

Very nice, I have got to figure out how you did this. Took mine out on an 85 mile round trip a week ago, and the wind nearly beat me to death. Please follow up with lots more photos, hints, etc. Surely will follow up with more stuff but it's still a work in progress right now. I did ride her like this but the screen is so wide that on hard turns it hits the original screen and flexes back a bit. Not the end of the world but I don't like it and I'm gonna trim the screen a bit just haven't figured out the best way to do it yet. One thing's for sure, once you start cuttin' plexiglass there's no goin' back! I'll post some new stuff soon... Oh yeah, you're right, that original screen is less than useless... just deflects more air at you! ;D

Well I finally got around to installing my new windscreen(Slip Streamer Scoot 50-got it at Christmas!) on the RT and tried it out on a 20 mile jaunt in 40 degree weather wearin' a baseball cap. All I can say is...NICE ;D. Wind is directed up, over, and around me and ride is much quieter. Only my hands got cold. I'm sure the added wind resistance will affect my top end but she didn't have any trouble gettin' to 60+MPG. And yes, serious modification of the mounting hardware was necessary. Here's a couple of pics.

Don't know much about air shocks but I assume they came with those springs. Could it be that the new springs are too long and/or have too stiff a dampening rate?

I went through the same process as you with the front shocks but with mine at the maximum setting I get a comfortable, stable ride. Oh, and thanks for the info on the steering stabilizers, I may look into them but once the weather gets a little nicer I think I'll mess with the alignment first.

Yes there is a broken weld on the Left side, look closely as the Video starts and he starts to whiggle the front. You can see play in the bottom bolt in the Sleeve and the weld holding the Sleeve to the control arm piece. Alleyoop And Alley I talked to Justin and there were no broken welds on his RT, just loose bushings and an alignment problem.
