Hi guys I have this reverse trike. I bought it not working. I am was able to get it running and idling but when I open the throttle it bogs down.
I am trying to find pictures of the air box open with filter out. I am wondering if previous owner took something out of it.
Also does anyone have pics of engine and vacuum tube connections. In case something is not connected properly
Thanks much

Well if it is bogging when twist the throttle it is sucking in to much air. So in the air box there should be a FOAM FILTER. Also look for any hoses not attched and or cracks in the air tubing etc..
Take some pics of the carb area and hoses so we can see what is attached to what. If something is not right we will tell you where it goes. Alleyoop

Q. will it rev up on the center stand or it won't take any throttle at all? If so then it is fuel delivery problem to much air not enough fuel. A. You either have a very bad air leak or the carb needs to be adjusted. Here is how to adjust your carb if it is a fuel delivery problem: thescooterprofessor.proboards.com/thread/3001/4-stroke-carb-tuningIf It takes throttle but does not want to move out smartly then the problem is in the CVT, worn belt, belt slipping, variator hanging up, clutch slipping etc.. Thanks I will try the carb adjustment again. It does not take any throttle at all . As soon as I start to open it starts bogging and shaking. But I believe it is some how taking too much fuel, as I see a sooty plug. And when it shuts off with throttle and I try to start it again. It back fires a couple if times into the carb before it starts again, isn't that an indication of a rich situation/ too much fuel?
Thanks again

Yes when starting and it backfires that is an idication of to much fuel. Check the VACUUM HOSE on the ACV valve and see if it is WET it may be sucking in fuel from the vacuum line from the FUEL PUMP or PETCOCK which one you have. PLEASE TAKE SOME PICTURES of the CARB AREA and hoses, I have been asking for pictures and you have yet to take pictures of that motors setup. Alleyoop HERE IS HOW TO POST PICTURES USING THIS HOST. IT IS EASY AND FREE: tinypic.com/index.php1. Click on this link: 2. Click on Browse, that will link to your computer. 3. Find what you want to load. 3. Click on the name of the picture 4. Check the Vacuum hose coming from the FUEL PUMP for gas it may be sucking gas through the vacuum hose.

Sorry I haven't piped in sooner, but haven't been checkin' this forum recently. I know you checked the air intake snorkel but make absolutely sure that it is secured properly(airtite) to the air filter box. That snorkel doesn't quite have the right bend in it so it doesn't like staying on the air box. When I tried to pull mine off of the airbox(with the clamp removed) it didn't want to pull off. Found out it had been attempted to be glued to the air box and it was not a pretty job. I reinforced the air box outlet that the snorkel clamps to with a piece of pvc pipe which allowed for tightening the livin' crap out of it so it stays put. I'd hate you to go through all kinds of carb adjustments to find out this was the problem. Good luck and have fun with your new career(keepin' her on the road that is--LOL!).

HI I wanted to leave here a note about the solution, Hopefully it will help someone else. I had convinced myself that this was a too rich fuel mixture problem (black sooty Sparkplug) and worked on the carb endless hours. I then went back and said to myself I need to eliminate each and every posibility. I started with the Airbox modified the amount of air coming in, but that didnt help. I then went to the transmission and removed the CVT assembly and what do you know the rollers in the CVT Assembly (sorry not sure what you call that) were stuck due to dirt and were not allowing the engine to rev up at all. So I took it apart, cleaned everything and now the engine revs and drives to 3800 rpm where previously I couldnt get past idling. I now have backfiring through exhaust at 3800 rpm, so its not yet at full power and I think it is a carb adjustment thing.
Hope this helps.
