Right on JR, Good point about just putting a shot of carb cleaner in a vacuum port, I like to use WD-40 as a starting fluid as well. Great advice.. Map Mapbike is for sure on the right path. We got spark, good compression, fuel pump putting out fuel, last thing are we getting fuel to the engine and had the same thing happen to my wifes 250A just quit but it would idle the main jet was clogged, sounds like you low speed one is because it won't even idle. Also you can pull the vacuum hose from the intake manifold and spray a touch of carb cleaner it in and hit the start button if she fires time for a carb cleaning. JR

Spay a bit of starting fluid in the carb. where the air filter hose connects and then right straight try to start it, if it tries to kick off and run for a second, you have a clogged jet in the carb most likely.
Pull the carb. remove the main jet and spray it and the rest of the carb out very good with carb. cleaner, just because you have fuel to the carb doesn't mean it's getting metered into the engine.
Good luck..... Peace

LOL........! Nice looking bike cruiser...... much cleaner than my ole country road cruiser, stays dirty all the time..... Been considering an EZ Motorbike kit myself for a while now.... I have 2 brand new Harbor Freight 79cc Grayhound engines I have some plans for, plus plans for a 6.5HP Pusher and on & on & on. All of these plans are included right along with my plans for my scooter...... dont know how I will find the time for all of it but I guess I'll have fun trying.......! Peace I dunno, mapbike. Putting those bikes with motors on this forum is really stretching the rules. Before you know it, everyone will be posting a picture of a motorized bike on here. Just to represent the 4T guys: Now has a Q-matic transmission. Powered by Hua-Sheng 142F. See. I told you it would happen.

I know this isn't a forum for anything other than scooters but the engines on my bikes do "scoot" them along, so since you ask I will post a pic of one of them this once, I dont want to unknowingly break any forum rules and if this does I appoligize to JR and everyone else in advance.... My bike are just usable ridable inexpensive bikes, nothing fancy at all, but I have done many things that have made them very dependable, the one here in this pic is a Huffy Karaoke that I bought off amazon.com last year, it has high quality Kenda tires on it now, extra heavy duty tubes in tires, all wheel bearing have a very high grade grease in them, the engine has some custom made clutch pucks that I made from an industrial grade friction material, the intake is a custom Port Matched CNC machined Billet intake, NGK B6HS spark plug, high grade copper crae plug wire, main jet in carb. has been soldered and redrilled to tune engines for the 100:1 Opti2 oil mix I use, Head has had 0.015 milled off of it to increase compression and the exhaust is a pocket bike expansion chamber that really adds good overall power and torque to this little 66cc 2 smoker, there are a few other things that have been done to the engine and bike I have left out here but these are some of the things done, this bike has 700+ miles on it now and one other one I have has 1200+ on it, I have several other things that I plan to do to this engine and the others when I get the time, I have better needle bearing and seals that will be installed and plan some extra port work on 2 of them, this one has seen 41MPH under perfect conditions but I cruise it at 30-32MPH very comfortable at that speed with the 36T rear sprocket. Not nearly as comfortable as my scoot but lots of fun just the same and when I ride it into town I get lots of smiles, interests and questions by many people at times if I stop long enough in one place, even the police officers give me big smiles and thumbs up when they see me cruising by..... it gets around 110-120MPG if I dont run WOT all the time so that makes it good cheap fun as well. Anyway, here's one of them for ya... Peace I got and installed my exhaust about 3 days before your post. That's why that very cool shorty was still on my mind (I'm jealous BTW) Anyway, I don't have a camera or cell phone. (Long story, Camera was stolen and I've never had a cell.) I apologize for hijacking your thread !!!! Maybe I can borrow a camera and post pics. Off topic again but, Good idea for the catch can Be safe and Keep On Scootin On!!!! Anyway to start a thread about those motorized bicycles??? I built one a while back and sold it but, They are fun as Hell!!!!!! I love small engines and 2 strokes rule!!! I know at least one other member that has a passion for Whizzers that may be interested. They are scooters/mopeds afterall. I would love to see them. Attachments:

Sure alleyoop, Soory I didn'yt get this sooner this has been my weekend to work and I will also have to work Monday, but I'm off Tuesday so I will make another short vid and I'll rev it up pretty good so you can hear how it sounds, It doesnt sound exactly the same in person as it does on the vids but it's pretty close. I'll see if I can set my phone up in a holder and then maybe do a high speed WOT drive by so it will be reved high but have a load on it also, this may give the best example....Shrug? I'll just have to experiment a little and see how that works out, it it isn't very good then I'll just do a stationary high rev vid for ya... Peace, Shan Mapbike, Can you ring it out so we can hear what it sounds at high rpms? Alleyoop

Hey thats great bong, do you have the pipe and have it on your scoot yet? If you do and can post a pic get it up so we can see it.... Yeah, 3rd aint to bad......LOL! heck I dont care about that anyway, all I know is I got one on mine and I like it a lot........wish I had got one sooner......a bit of a pain getting it on but well worth the effort. Peace Hey Map, I to was looking at morethanhundreds too. Small world I guess I was wrong about you being the first with a video. 3rd place ain't bad though. I ended up skipping the Shorty and narrowed it down to a couple of pipes around 115/150 bucks I was just about to buy and came across a 50cc pipe for 79.99 with FREE shipping!!!! To good to pass up. There was a chrome and black one. I went with the black and besides that wonderful sound looks almost stock on my black scoot.

At around 8:30PM this evening I was coming back from a short late evening ride after the temp got below 100 F. and decided to video the last 2 miles on the way back home, video is not good quality because I shot it with my phone but what the heck, you can see the rough dusty roads my scoot spends much of it's now 2100+ miles on, about 3-3.5 miles each way before I find pavement.
In the future I will get a couple of good quality vids made with a better camera up here.....
Peace

Well, I just went and looked at mine and it looks like the example above, te numbers between the stars are different on mine but the ID code is just like it ( 157QMJ ) nothing before it or after it....Shrug.
So I dont know who made mine but it has been a good one so far and I figure it is mostly like all the chinese made engines we buy over here......Luck of the draw in most cases, you might get a real good one, you might get a so so one or you might get a lemon......no matter what the "Brand" is.
I have been tinkering with motorized bicycles now for almost 2 years, and all the engines I have used on them are 2 smokers made in China, there are several different brands of them and different makers in china but almost all parts interchange perfectly and no matter what the brand is some are great and others are trouble right out of the box from the cheapest to the most expensive.....
Peace, Shan

Thanks sprocket, you just learned me something new....LOL! I found this info. which doesn't ecplain engine brand in the code but has other helpful info. Now I will have to go and look at mine to see what mine says on it. Peace So you found a code on your buggy or scooter and you're wondering what it means. The code can actually tell you a lot about a specific engine.
You can find your engine code below the CVT cover, beside the oil drain plug.
We'll take a look at the most common engine code: 157QMJ. The first thing to note is that the actual code always starts with the first number, and continues for a total of 6 digits. Anything extra is a manufacturer-specific information that won't be covered here at this time.
Lets disect the code starting with the first digit: (Digit #1) Corrasponds to the number of cylinders. All GY6 engines are single cylinder, so this number will always be 1.
(Digit #2 and #3) This is the bore size in metric millimeters, in the case of the 157QMJ, our bore is 57mm. Note that 57.4mm bore engines fall under the "57" designation.
(Digit #4) relates to the style of engine. All GY6 engines are designated "Q".
(Digit #5 and #6) The actual size of the engine. The second letter ascends consecutively for each 10cc. MB = 50cc, MC = 60cc, MD for a 70, MH = 110cc, MI = 125cc, MJ = 150cc
That is pretty much it for the standard codes stamped on most GY6 and other Chinese engines. We will add more information about manufacturer-specific codes as we find it out. Not sure...I buy engines in Canada and they are Lifan from MBE Alway ask for the engine number like - LF 1P57QMJ - before you buy. The first two initials are the engine manufacturer.. there are databases you can search for more information. Attachments:

Your welcome, I talked to the fella at kingstarscooters and he was amazed that the kit didn't just bolt right up on my scoot, he said that he had only been carrying this exhaust kit for about 6 months and so far they had been working out real good for people he had sold them to, but who know if he is being honest with me or not on that part of it..Shrug. But I do know that I looked at some example on youtube where the 150cc scoots they where on did have bolt on and go installations looked like because there scoots had a different factory exhaust set up than mine does, maybe I just have an odd ball...... ?? Anyway, I told him my gasket was broke when I got mine and the rubber strip for the clamp was missing, he said he would get those shipped right out to me, the box looked like USPS had thrown it off a freaking cliff when I went to pick it up so I know the damage and loss was due to their handling of the package and not the sellers fault but he is sending me replaacements anyway he said. Very nice sounding pipe.......I really like mine for sure. Peace I have been looking at these. Thank you for this post and the video!

Yeah I have a fuel filter on mine right now but after 8 or 10 miles of running WOT @ 7500 RPM's I still get a bit of oil that works it's way into the filter and seeps out, plus I figured the filter will become more restrictive over time and could possibly cause excessive crankcase pressure rather than having a completely free flow that will catch the oil and allow it to drain back into the engine.
I will likey use a small one way PCV valve on the exit side as well.
