Hello fellow scooterers:
What have others done with locking cover on tunnel? Since gas tank is under seat. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Would like to cut out larger and put some sort of compartment there.
Gas tank must have been redesigned because of temp problems.

My Trike has the gas tank under the locking cover on the tunnel. But mine is Air Cooled yours is water cooled so the radiator is up front and the gas tank was blocking the air going to the Radiator that is way they moved it . So you can make a storage bin but not to deep otherwise you would be blocking the air just like a gas tank would. How about installing a radio in there it would be shallow and not interfer with air to the radiator. Alleyoop

On the Bali the radiator is up front Alley and the gas tank is behind it just like on the linhai version of the 250B. The fan is on the back of the radiator and pulls air from the front of the scooter. I would think as long as he doesn't just place a compartment on the fan so tightly it interferes with air flow he may be able to put a small one there? On the reflex YY250T you are correct the radiator is behind the gas tank and another compartment is only going to block more air. Respectfully there is no scooter as a Bali YY250T that is the reflex copy and the Chinese are famous for putting multiple stickers on scooters and it's very confusing. If it does have the radiator in front of the gas tank then it is the MC-250-13 Bali and it was made from the factory with the radiator up front and not behind the gas tank. Jr you missed the point, he is asking what he could do with the EMPTY hole under the Tunnel that already has a locking cover. He said his tank is under the seat so the radiator is in front somwhere. If the radiator is in front of the locking cover then he can make a deep storage bin. But if the radiator is before the locking cover not make a deep storage bin otherwise he will block the air to the radiator. Alleyoop

Totally agree but what I was saying is the radiator on this model is for sure in front of the gas tank "if" it's the Bali. Even then it will be a small but could be useful compartment.

On my Bali, with the Honda clone engine, (244 cc) the gas tank is under the seat. The radiator sits a ways back from the locking door on the tunnel and there appears to be plenty of space to add a compartment. I have also thought about adding a compartment but I am with Alley. What ever gets put in that space, consideration needs to be made to ensure good airflow to the radiator.

Thanks Gatekeeper you told me something I didn't know? I always tought the 250 Bali kept the same gas tank and location as the 150 Bali. On my 150 the tank is up front and has the gas fill cap under the opening that Nova is asking about. I actually have a oil cooler condensor in front of the tank and just behind the plastic grill behind the front wheel.
So with that said I'll agree one needs to be careful and not obstruct the air flow too much or it'll suffer in the summer.

There is plenty of room , maybe 10" or more to fan & radiator. I was thinking of cutting square 2 1/2" X 6" X 8or 9" deep, and find some household container ie tupperware or the sort to rivet or attach someway.

Hes referring to the empty spot beside the coolant tank, On mine I have the MP3 wire running there and keep my I Pod Shuffle hooked up there sure would be a small compartment but could work? Keep it small still right in front of radiator and fan!
