I do wish that there was an add-on reserve tank that would somehow fit in the compartment under the seat of a 150cc scooter. It wouldn't have to be anything huge, mind you, but probably at least a quart or two capacity, with a manually operated petcock/switch. Has anyone here ever seen something like this? My 150cc does get about 65 to 70 mpg, but it would be nice to have a reserve that would take me an additional 25 or 30 miles. I have googled for one, but haven't had any luck at all finding any ideas.

Good morning Silverfox. Does your scooter have a fuel pump or is the gravity fed type? Either way it can be done but the main thing is to get a DOT approved type tank? I'll look around too! JR

Fuel system is gravity fed. I'll keep looking, too.

I think a small spare can, that seals great is the ticket. I carry a one gallon in my trunk. On the day my carb drain screw started leaking it was a godsend! I was in the boonies and smelled it when I stopped for a drink at a redneck little store, not not gas station. . I bought a novelity screwdriver at the store, mine was too big to get it where it needed to be, to re-tighten the screw, and the 1/2 gallon of gas I had in that can saved a looooooong walk.

89newbie..... That would work, but I would be afraid of the gas can leaking and the trunk not being able to handle that weight.

Yea those look like they would work for extra fuel just put a shutoff and a "Y" connector the your current setup before the Fuel Filter and away you go. Alleyoop
