After two plus years owning a Chinese scooter and nearly 10,000 miles, I recently purchased a 2004 Honda Reflex with 13,000 miles. Glad to see a non-Chinese area of study.

Looking forward to see what I may learn.

Welcome to the University, Ed. What kind of Chinese scoot do you have? Congratulations on your new purchase of a 2004 Honda Reflex. I'm especially happy to have you with us because your scoot is the nearest thing to the YY250T style scoots owned by many Chinese scoot riders. We have the older Helix style motor with the vertical cylinder while the rest of the scoot is laid out the same as the Reflex. Let us know how you like it and also if you need any help with any scoot problems.

Ditto on what Cruiser said and yes spread the word we are going to try to help ALL scooter owners and I'm repeating myself but I've got a lot of how to material to geyt in including a Reflex manual!

I had two Milan 150's. One was for parts (Lance) and the other (No name import) was my daily transportation. Unfortunately, I found the scooter not too reliable. I'm sorry for all the Chinese owners, but I found myself maintaining the scooter more than I had expected. Things would break unexpectedly. In January the intake valve retaining clip broke on the way home from work. I was driving it a little bit hard but I did not expect this to happen. The head was less than a year old. The head was advertised to be better than the OEM. I had purchased the head because both OEM heads had an internal hairline crack on the cam chain side. Strange that both OEM heads had the same manufacturing defect.

When I purchased the Reflex it came with a parts manual, service manual and the standard owners manual. No problems other than having to replace the original battery (more than 7 years old!) and replacing the tires. I did lock the only key in the seat compartment. Thanks to the service manual, I was able to take off enough body parts to get my hand on the lock mechanism to unlock the seat. The plastic does not break either like the brittle plastic of my other scooters.

This scooter is great. Just the 150 to 250 move is worth it. However, not comfortable on the freeway. I feel the tires too small. At 75mph I felt a bit of power struggle and cut back to 65 and had a bunch of cages on my rear end in no time.

Thanks for the feedback, Ed. Haven't heard about head problems from any 150cc owners. I believe many have over 10000 miles on them. There are many who have had good service with 150's. I guess they are not all created equal.

The YY250T uses 130/60-13 tires front and rear which is a little larger than the Reflex but cruising at 75 mph is a stretch for this scoot.

I certainly hope you have much better luck with the Reflex.
