I ordered a set of 8 12X20-12 Dr Pulley sliders for my JCL MP250A. I'm wondering if I must remove the big plastic wrap around and rocker panels to get to the variator. The video was somewhat helpful but us old folks need things spelled out sometimes. Thanks Ernie

No, all you have to do is get the CVT cover off it should have about 10 bolts holding it on to the engine case. Your 250 has the same body panels as mine in the picture below. Alleyoop

I ordered a Gates 856-23-30 drive belt to go along with the new sliders. Who knows what can happen to a Chinese belt after sitting in a crate for four years?
I also believe that the current belt does a lot of flopping and banging against the case. This could possibly be the noise I have been complaining about under acceleration.
This is like waiting for a baby...

You might have to remove your air box, I know with mine one of the bolts goes through my air box and cvt cover.

No there are two bolts on the top of the CVT cover that hold the air filter assembly, remove them and then tie the air filter housing up out of the way, don't even need to remove it from the carb and as Alley said no plastic removal.
