I'm posting this here because, though it's about my 2012 Zodiac, it's probably a generic question that applies to any scoot.
I've finally got mine to where it starts reliably, usually on the first crank, BUT -- I have to nurse the throttle for a few minutes before it will idle on its own, unless I want to take right off down the road at RPM. I can up the idle screw to solve it, but then once it DOES warm up it idles too fast. How does one find the happy medium? I've seesawed back and forth but have yet to hit the sweet spot. Is there any solution other than fiddling endlessly with the idle screw?

I have 1 2013 white and 1 2015 red and another 2015 white to tell you the truth I usually start them for a couple minutes waiting for wife to come out to ride but buy that time never a problem. the red one has 7,500 mile never been touched as far as valves the 2013 5,600 mile never been touched either the last one is parade bike for my VFW ONLY 2,000 miles and yes never been touched. All that's been done is Asoil metric oil changes,

Yeah, it's only a matter of a few minutes for me too; I generally nurse it until the temp gauge goes up one notch, after that all good. Carb is brand new, bought from Rapid Jim, it would be hard to believe it's got a problem already. I would note, though, that I posted right after I installed it that it has an extra wire of unknown purpose -- post included pictures. Two wires go go a two-terminal connector, but there's a third that comes out of the wiring sleeve about halfway down, and I've never been able to figure out its function or where it should plug in, if at all. Nobody on the trike forum had any advice to offer on that, not even Rapid Jim himself, the guru of all things IceBear. My understanding is that these carbs are actually somewhat generic, fit a number of similar scooters, so I can easily imagine that wire might serve a purpose on some other scoot but not on my Magnum.
OH, HUGE CORRECTION TO MY OP -- I HAVE A 2012 MAGNUM, NOT A 2012 ZODIAC!
