Finally got my 2012 Magnum to where it will start regularly, but idle when cold is still rough. Want to drain the gas, which has been in there for a couple years (with StaBil), looking for easy way. On MY Magnum, the fuel pump is easy to get to, not way up underneath the fuel tank, so I'm thinking just pull the hose feeding into the pump, maybe loosen gas cap, all good, let gravity do the job. Anybody see it differently or have an easier way?
Secondarily, is there any value to running a gallon or so of high-test through the scoot as a "clean-out" thing? Or maybe pouring in a little cleaner of some kind and immediately draining it? Or would that be harmful? I realize these small Chinese engines aren't exactly Grand Prix quality, so don't want to make anything worse.

I have a suction device I use. It looks like a big hypo needle but has a 3/8" hose on it. You push the plunger in all the way, put it in the fluid you want to suck out and pull the plunger back. It holds about a pint at a time. Then stick the hose in a container and push the plunger in and your fluid goes in the container to be recycled somewhere. Easy and no mess.

Yeah, just siphoning it via the fuel cap should also get 95% of it, I suppose, without having to unhook anything.

Solved, bought a pump for about $7 at Harbor Freight (love that place!). Pumped out all the gas I could, though the gauge still showed over half full -- questionable gauge? Anyhow, will now fill up the tank with fresh gas, maybe one notch up from regular, add some StaBil for the summer, and call it good. (I also plan to have grandson start it up and run it for a few minutes once a month or so.)

on bottom of my tanks have train plug did you look under tank? Nope, assumed that would involve removing plastic, something I avoid. But in re-filling with new gas, determined that the tank is TWO gallons, not three (eight liters, actually, so roughly 2.2 gallons), and that there had been less than half a gallon left in the tank after pumping it out, so I'm satisfied. Now filled with mid-grade, and will put in some StaBil before storing it. Pleased to report it has been starting consistently each day, still have to nurse the throttle a wee bit until it warms up or it dies, but that's no biggie. Five minutes usually does it, after which it'll idle just fine.
