I have been considering converting my scooter to a three wheeler. After cruising the Internet for a while I have come up with very little hope. Most of the sellers that have kits do not seem very reliable. Several years ago I triked out my Honda Goldwing with a kit from a Texas company called Motor Trike. They were good to work with and I rode the trike for about 12 years. A few yeas back I decided I no longer needed such a big ride so I sold it. Now I have this scooter and am thinking about triking it. I would not have any problem doing the mechanicals of the conversion - I have a good shop and past experience as an auto tech - retired now. Anyone with suggestion of a reliable vendor?

My honest opinion? Sell the current steed ,,then call Jim at rapid repair,,he sells icebear trikes and after a little setup and fiddling they are stones,,,couple members on this and scooter doc forum have them and are very happy,,,talk to Crawford also he's a member here and on the scooter doc he's got like three or four of them he loves them and I must admit the do look pretty sharp,,,

But one member on this forum has one and is NOT very happy -- after just 1700 miles, can't get it to start, and almost nobody in Tucson is willing to work on it. Hoping to have a happier report after replacing the carb, but as of now that's my story.

While yes there is one but I have 3 Ice Bear Zodiac's one 2013 and two 2015,s engine and drive line rock solid. only problem I have had was keeping exhaust tight and small cracks in plastic's no real problem. In 1st year average 5,000 second 4,000 still going. Beware who you buy from Rapid Jim is the only one I could recommend who backs up what he sells and will work with you.

I'm getting the carb from Jim, but since he's in Wisconsin it doesn't solve the nobody-will-touch-it problem. Have asked Ice Bear what is the closest actual brick and mortar dealer to Tucson, but not even the courtesy of a reply. Anybody know?

Thanks for the advice. I believe there are differing opinions about the Ice Bear. Even the folks who like them have had issues. I know my Linhai, which has less than 1400 miles, and I know where I can get parts. I do not see any reason to spend another $4000 dollars to purchase a scooter whose manufacturer has a questionable reputation! The dealer in Wisconsin may be great, but I am 12 hours away and I am a very good mechanic myself. Thus I am still looking for a trike kit.
