Have just about had my fill of we-don't-work-on-them Chinese scooters, and also getting up in years where I feel more comfortable on a trike. Any hints/recommendations/caveats about Japanese or Taiwanese trikes? Quality-wise I'm sure they'd be at least as good as what China is cranking out, issue #1 would be the service/repair network when something exceeds my skillset. I just did a little bit of googling but didn't see any trikes. This is just a fun thing, so don't start with the Can-Ams and the like, five-digit prices are way, way beyond what I'd be willing to invest.

I'd stick with Taiwanese if it was my call,,, more than half of the "Japanese" scooters are rebadged tai scoots anyways

Okay, looked briefly at those, I know there's a Kymco dealer here but didn't see any trikes in their lineup.

There are scooters with trike kits on them though they are not truely trikes in the sense of being 3 wheeled. Rather they are scooters with outrigger wheels at the rear. But there are also true 3 wheel trike kits available as well, but very expensive. I've only seen them on Japanese bikes though. I've often seen trike kitted scooters of both types for sale on ebay and CL. Seek and ye shall find.
