I am resurecting a 2005 Roketa 250cc (linhai 257cc clone motor) water cooled scooter. In replacing fluids no coolant flowing so I remove the water pump front half and see the impeller is spinning freely - so order new pump.
when removing the inner half go water pump all of the crankcase oil drain though a whole in what appears to be a bearing on the shaft. I had motor running - no mixing of oil and water anywhere. Is it normal for oil to drain when water pump is completely removed. Am i safe replacing WP and then refilling oil and cooling system. Not sure if what i am experiencing is normal or not.
