When I engage the break to start my JCL 250 scooter I lose electrical power. If I disconnect the battery and reconnect the battery I regain power but but again lose power as soon as I gave the front brake to start the scooter. Any thoughts?

Do you disconnect both battery terminals?,,,,,pull both and clean them real well and reconnect ,,,if that doesn't cure it take the battery to an auto parts store and have them load test it,,,it may be damaged inside,,,had 2 do the exact same thing ,,,they would make 12v low amp draw but as soon as i hit the starter button they would fail

So i've pulled the battery and clean the terminals. The battery was checked and recharged. The scooter started last night and ran as normal. Went for a short ride this morning and all work well. Went to go later this afternoon for a ride and nothing. All electrical power was gone. I thought it could be a fuse near the muffler but I am unable to get to that. Any other thoughts?

So, brand new battery and still nothing. Is there an easy way to get to the 20A fuse near the muffler? I haven't checked that because the bike was working.

If you have nothing period now check the battery ground to frame terminal ,,, pull it from the frame and clean it well and reinstall,,, then if nothing still it's time to search out the main fuse

Follow the negative off the battery to where it's bolted to the frame

That fuse he is looking for is up under the plastic ,under his right hipbone-get down low and peep up under the plastic and see some wires and harness

I'm tellin ya, I've had more on and off weird battery trouble this summer. Making me spend money hand over fist. Would not surprise me for a minute if it is still your battery. The battery in my car would work fine and then the starter wouldn't budge a half day later, Same thing I would charge the scooter battery. Would start fine for a couple starts. Then a day or so later it wouldn't budge the starter. Turns out my son was right. These days, Always start with a new or known good battery first, And of course after checking and cleaning + and - connections. Then start shooting off in another direction. Oh, let me add, The local Advanced Autoparts tested my battery at first and told me it was good. So don't always trust that either.
