 just picked this up at auction, worked on Chinese 4 wheels never a scooter. its a yamati 2002 2 stroke with a 50cc. Looks like this may be an alarm system wiring and a cdi wiring not sure its in the floor board of the scooter looks as if a mice chewed on it. Thanks for any input, will be working on it when i get back from vacation.  |

why not go each side peel back insulation make connection to right color wire cut out old and put in spliced wire

Im back going to do as said above, wasn't sure what was there in the first place? Alarm? Going to tear it apart and see what happening in there and were they go.

i think i got the wire figured out, is this a DC-cdi or AC-cdi i need? It had 5 wires on the cdi side after i pulled the tape back.see if this is correct from the drawings I've looked at.
Black/white- Ignition coil
Black- Ground/Thermo element i guess motor temp
Green- Ground/ shows alarm system
Blue/white- Trigger coil
Black/red- Magneto

Black/white- Ignition coil Black- Ground/Thermo element i guess motor temp Green- Ground/ shows alarm system Blue/white- Trigger coil Black/red- Magneto From what I see there are more than one circuit in that bundle. This is a AC type CDI Black/White = engine kill from key switch and engine kill switch on the handle bar Black/yellow = Ignition coil feed Blue/white = trigger coil Black/Red = AC feed from stator to CDI Green = ground to CDI and other components, sometimes a CDI will have 2 ground wires. Some of these wires you may have to open up the scooter and trace their origins. You have other colors that generally mean this Red = 12VDC from battery to key switch Black = 12VDC from key switch with it in the on position Green/Yellow = 12 VDC feed from brakes when applied to brake light and starter relay The others could be to an alarm or even to headlights or other things, got to find out where they go? |

Got it running, i rechecked the wire with a meter to confirm voltage on wiring and found the kill switch wire also, she runs but smoked real bad maybe from sitting up. Found the vacuum fuel pump bad no biggie there.
Is there an adjustment on the oil intake the motor gets or is it tuned with the carb to lean it a little, the plug was black black and was loaded up, i'll run high test gas and see if it still smokes bad after i get some miles on it.

it has two tanks oil & gas., it had a little oil in it but ill change it to higher grade 2 stroke oil, and the gas tank was empty i only run 93 non ethanol in all my stuff.
Dumb question here? i figured it pre mixed threw the motor with two tanks.
