I have a 2011 150 cc TaoTao paladin. I bought this bike used and the headlight was not working when I bought it. I have tried 2 bulbs in my headlamp and they keep blowing out. the 1st one after about 10 min of riding (had to ride it home in the dark with no headlight). the 2nd one was out when I started it up in the morning. everything else works. the turn signals, brake lights, fuel indicator and battery indicator all work.
I think I need to trace the headlight wires to the power source, looking for bare wires, crimps or wires touching.
I know this is a long shot, but can anyone tell me what could be the problem I will try the suggestions
thanks

Often a bad or poor ground as well as, a poor connection at the bulb and socked will cause premature bulb failure.

Sounds like a problem I had not so long ago. I put a 50cc Rectifier/Regulator on a Tao Tao 150 Roman, and experienced blown headlamps, and charging voltages in excess of 20v. I purchased the R/R off ebay, and it only said "GY6 Voltage Regulator". I started thinking, Why are my voltages so high, and realized that most GY6 50's usually have a 6 pole stator. My GY6 150 has an 8 pole stator. Try replacing your R/R with one that specifies "FOR 150cc GY6", and give that a try. That type usually has cooling fins on the front and sides of the module, whereas the smaller R/R for the 50's only have cooling fins on the front. Worked for me. Now I have the problem of my halogen bulb not being bright enough!...lol.

I agree ,,, sounds like a rectifier/ regulator problem letting Voltage get too high

I live my life by occums razor, try the simplest solutions first and then complicate them.
Are you sure you're not touching the bulbs when you install them OP? Oily residue from your figures on the bulbs will cause them to blow.
Also, make sure there's no moisture getting in your headlight housing, a tiny drop of condensation on the bulb will make them blow.
This is all assuming your bikes takes a halogen type bulb like a h4 or hs1.
If this isn't your problems then maybe its the r/r issue stated above, do you have a voltage meter to test it?

tvnacman.blogspot.com/Something else is causing this. Have you made any changes to the lighting at all. You will need to get a volt meter to see what is going on. John
