I thought I posted this before, but here it is again, really short. If I can kickstart my scoot without the battery connected, is it AC or DC? (Or still a bit young and just experimenting? )

Listen up when someone says they have a DC system they usually mean their CDI is DC and is fed 12v for power. How that happens is the IGNITION always has 12volts from the battery whether the KEY IS ON OR OFF. That is usually the thin RED WIRE with the FUSE coming off the Positive Post on the Battery. Then when you Turn the KEY ON it feeds any of the instruments and some lights if not all 12volts as well as 12Volts to the CDI IF ITS A DC system. So if it can be started without a Battery then it is a AC CDI. If it was a DC CDI it would not start even with the kickstart if no battery or the battery was bad. Alleyoop
