Which gasket are you talking about and a lock washer goes right behind the head screw to put pressure on it outwards so it does not vibrate loose. Alleyoop

No, the lock washers go under the NUT which tightens on the METAL FLANGE, The Gasket is BEHIND the metal flange and on the motor, then you put a lock washer on the stud and then screw the nut on. Alleyoop See the METAL FLANGE THAT COVERS THE GASKET: then you see the two nuts Well the LOCK WASHERS go under the nuts. What the lock washers do is put OUTWARD pressure on the nut so it does not vibrate loose.
