I cannot find a starter for this scooter. It's a Yamati EuroStrada with a QJ1E40QMB (50cc two-stroke) It seems that every part I have ordered has been wrong. The QJ does make a difference. It looks like the one below, but mine has 10 teeth. Everyone I look at has 9. Mine has a single red wire that goes onto a stud with a nut. The bolt holes are 66mm. I've been trying to fix the scooter for a gal who is disabled and can't walk very far. I was hoping to get it back to her in a day, I have had it for over a month! Please if you have one, or know where I can purchase one, let me know. If I cannot find one, is it possible to modify it somehow so I could use a 10 tooth? Can I get it rebuilt? I have a new one here now I am getting ready to send back that has the 9 tooth..can just the drive gears be changed? Thanks, John S

alleyoop The GY6 starter has holes at 70mm from what I have seen. tvnacman I'm not sure if it has a bendix. I know it had a large gear that spun behind the variator when starting. I'll look at home, I may have taken a picture. I did see post/websites saying I might be able to get brushes at a hardware store. I did take the starter apart and try to clean it up inside. Was a real PITA to get the armature past the brushes. Right now the starter sometimes, but sometimes have to turn it by hand a tiny bit to get it to start spinning.

So you want one that has 70mm holes or what? what is the hole spacing on yours? If so here is one 70mm with 10 splines. The previous one was 72mm spacing. Alleyoop

Well after them telling me it was 10 splines and submitting an order with specific instruction to make sure again it had 10 splines. It arrived with 9 splines. It's been two days since I've asked them to check if they have one again. Eer I have spent more money in return postage than the starter cost Anyone???Help?

Well if you would have counted the SPLINES on the link you put up THAT ONE ONLY HAS 9 SPLINES. A lot of sellers do not even know what they have, when you talk to them the guy your talking to only takes orders and 99% of them do not know squat, just phone jocks order takers. Alleyoop

I tried to count them.I've looked at and counted hundreds, but could not make out that pic. I finally heard back. They paid for return shipping. They said they, may be intechangable, I don't see how. It may easier for me to change the gear/starter clutch?

Thanks but that GY6 starter bolt holes are too wide.
