Why do you want to remove the air box ? Depend on what air filter you go with, you will probably have adjust your air/fuel mixture, you might be too lean?

Some install a UNI filter and or K&N filter with the tubing curved to the side so it gets some clean air.

What about if I left the tubes connected to the factory airbox and just remove the tube going to the carb, and then just put my aftermarket filter out the carb. Would that work?

I know on my 257cc Linhai clone scooter, there is one hose from my sprocket to air box, then a hose from air box to my vapor canister, then the other hose comes from my air box to the back of my carb, (this is my main hose from my air filter to carb) is this what your talking about?

Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk It would work but would be ineffective. The purpose of those two hoses is to return fuel/oil vapors back to the intake to be reburned. Leaving them connected to an unused airbox would not reburn the gases. Both of these are emissions related. The cranckase tube returns pressurized blow-by gases to the intake. If removed from the cranckase cover, you would end up with atomized oil residue everywhere, plus the downside of allowing water to enter directly into the case. The fuel hose sucks away excess fuel vapors that accumulate in the tank. You can plug the crankcase hose and tie it to the frame up under the seat pan. For the fuel, you can remove the big hose altogether. Remove the little hose from the neck of the tank, and clamp on a 2 dollar fuel filter, leaving the other end of the filter higher than the tank. (tie it to the frame as well.) Leave the vacuum line connected to the fuel canister (or plug it VERY good) to keep carb intake vacuum. They also make THIS, but you have to take your plastics off to access the tank.

Wheezy, will plugin the crankcase hose like that cause any pressure buildup in the crankcase? Or hurt it for that matter?

Hey guys, what are people installing for the crankcase and fuel breather hose after removing stock air breather box? Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk The Fuel breather hose and the crankcase breather hose IF that is all that is connected to the AIRBOX, no problem just leave them connected. They are only VENT hoses and any little fumes from the Gas tank canister is really nothing MOST take all that off and just take the Vent hose from the gas tank and slap on a fuel filter on the end to keep the dirt out and zip tie it little higher than the tank. The Crankcase Vent from the valve cover is the same You can put a fuel filter on the end of it and zip tie it higher than the valve cover. Or leave them connected to the AIR BOX not a problem. most scooter owners upgrade their parts so the saying "if it aint broke, dont fix it " wouldnt apply much on scooter forums
