Hi I have a 2012 Adly Cougar 125. The scooter kick starts fine and everything works when riding.
When I got it I was told the battery was flat. Got it home and put the multimeters on it and it was sitting at 11.9v. I checked the first fuse I found (next to the battery) and it was blown. Replaced it and it held until I tried the start button and nothing. Checked new fuse and it was blown. I put a heavier one in and I got 1 nice start. Tried for a second and nothing. Fuse blown again. Has anyone come across this before? Could it be a shorting wire? Or could it be some relay/module thing. Any help will be berry appreciated. Thanks

Very basic formula is voltage times current equals power. Current is limited by the resistance of the circuit. It takes a certain amount of power to do everything. If your battery has low voltage the starter will try to draw more current and eat the fuse. Get your battery up to the correct voltage before you begin the troubleshooting process.
12v lead acid battery has 6 cells at about 2.3 volts per cell. If your no load voltage is 11.9, you most likely have a dead cell in your battery.

Thanks for the response. Wasn't that, I figured it out myself. It was a dodgy terminal in a wiring plug arking. All good now.

Hate to bring back this thread but I installed a led head light with my Maddog 150cc scooter and all was fine, until the fuse decided to blow today. I have a extra fuse running to the battery for the led light . I do t know what's causing the starter fuse to blow . Help?

tvnacman.blogspot.com/I would unplug the connector to the starter solenoid and and see if the fuse keeps blowing. Take a look at the regulator see how many wires and colors. John
