My scooter one day decided not to start. I didn't have time to look at it, so I put it away for the time being. Went out yesterday and tried to start it with no luck. I took the carb out and orange gas came out I cleaned it and made sure the jets were clear, ect, put it back in and still nothing. I then took the spark plug out andsprayed some carb spray into the hole, put the plug back in and it started and ran until it burned off the carb spray.


I made sure the jets were clean and really the whole carb. What next? I didn't really check the float. Maybe it's stuck?

OPen the Drain screw on the bowl and see if fuel comes out. Then leave it open and crank the motor over and see if fuel still comes out which would mean the PETCOCK and or Fuel pump is working and the carb is filling up.

If so then close the drain screw and your problem is most likely the tiny holes by the butterfly are clogged and need to be cleared out.

Ok. I got it soaking right now. But I noticed more of that orange gas came out when I took it off. I checked the tank and it ran clear like regular gas, check the hoses and stuff, too. I got the petcock soaking too just in case.

Yea what you can do is take the FUEL hose off the carb and put it in a container and crank it until NONE ORANGE gas comes out.

Got it running. Guess I just needed to clean it more. The filter also had that orange crap in it, so I cleaned that out too.

i had a hard starting issue before and i bought a new carb (taiwanese made) and the issue went away
