Having an issue with my bike. The other day I was riding my bike when my bike lost power. I backed off of the throttle for a few seconds then proceeded to give it gas and it seemed fine. About 5 mins.later it did the same thing but tjis time I lost power completely. I puled over checked what I could all seemed ok. When I went to start the bike it wouldn't turn over. When I came back for the bike about an hour later it started right up. Ride fine for about 10 mins then it started acting like a jackass again. Tbe bike has been on the trickle charger but I cant get it to turn over..Also when it broke down I could smell a slight electrical smell.. Please help Mimi

Have you adjusted the valves on it BOTH to .004 inchs. Sounds like tight valves and it overheated. Alleyoop

That would be my first thing to check, the valves. Even if it's not them it takes one thing off the list. Troubleshooting sometimes is a matter of elimination and if the valves check out then we go back to the drawing board.

Make sure there are no VACUUM lines open otherwise not enough suction will go to the fuel pump. Also how did you test the fuel pump? to test how it is pumping fuel to the carb you take the fuel hose off the carb and put it in a cup or container and crank the motor over. Fuel should stream out and not dribble out. Also check your fuel filter it may be clogged. Can you take some pictures of the carb area and hoses, pics are worth a thousand words and there maybe something that we can spot. Alleyoop

One other thing if you guys messed with the Fuel ratio mixture screw on the carb on the LEFT side. You can turn it clockwise until it stops then turn it back out 2 1/2 turns that is enough for any motor to start and run. It may even run pretty descent at that setting but if not once it does start you can always fine tune the mixture. Alleyoop

I would try to check if the Fuel filter is dirty see If the fuel filter has particles Blocking The fuel line.
