Is it possible to resurface/deglaze drum brakes? & if so, how? ------ I'm not liking the prospects of having to go & purchase a new wheel just to get my 4" drum brake back up to spec. I have spotted $40 ones, but come-on this is crazy.
Rear disk conversion how-to or kits?
Is there a drum-hub convert-kit that is cost effective?
I really don't want to dump $80 or more into matching wheels for the sake of getting brakes up to spec. *Aaahh!* _

Still asking if anyone has info on resurfacing, deglazing, turning, anything that can make a drum-brake wheel good again. - Or are we folks that work on our own rides, forced to purchase a whole new wheel to get the brakes up to spec again? _

Just get a piece of sandpaper and sand it lightly and get the glaze off so they grab better. If they are worn down to much then you need new ones. And to convert to disk brakes it is not plug and play many mods have to be done to accomplish that and very expensive. Others have tried it and gave up cause it requires a different rim as well. Alley, thanks. - Are these angle slotted cut "performance" brake-shoes worth the price? Or are they just slot cuts in a regular shoe?
