Just coming back to the office from lunch and shut it down. Low and behold- 23030 chinos on the odo on my 2006 GY6 running on the original rubber even.
Just trying to think what I have had to put into it-

Belts X4
Front pads X3
Rear bearing
Headlight bulbs
V/R
Stator
Resistor
Vacuum breaker (switched out to Mikuni from a small engine shop)

Dr Pulley in the variator
Hyper exhaust
Carb up-jet

Thinking that changing the oil at regular intervals and valve adjusts has helped get me this far.

Jinxed myself. Today sounded like it was coming apart (it was). After chasing the noise I pulled the cover and the variator was slopping around on the boss. Big wobble.
