Hello all!! If few days ago my Fuel gauge on my scooter stopped working. I replaced the float And it still does not work. I even checked if I was getting voltage to the fuel gauge and to the flow and I was. I'm not too good with The electrics of scooters. Does anyone know what else could be the problem with my fuel gauge??

Did you just replace the float on the wire or the whole float system sensor that is plug and play? Alleyoop

Did you test the sensor before you put it in? Just take it out and turn the key on and move the float up and down and see if the gauge registers. Also make sure the plate that holds the wire is not loose and not making contact with the reisitor plate. If all is good then I would have to say if no wires are disconnected the gauge went south. Alleyoop I know the brand new float I put in works. I hooked it up to another scooter and I worked. I checked the wires to make sure there good. But the fuel gauge is still not working. Is there anything else that could be wrong?

No unless some wires going to the gauge are bad other than that if you know the float works the only thing is the gauge is bad. Alleyoop.

The gauges work off magnetism and they have a tiny electrical board so only someone that knows how to measure the output of the resistors and diodes and which ones on the board would know how to test a guage. Alleyoop

Alleyoop I think it may be my gauges. Because today I was riding And I came to a stoplight And noticed that my RPMs was at 6000 While stopped. I'm then tapped the RPM gauge firmly And then the gauge went back to normal.
