High RPM idle

I adjusted valves and cleaned the carb on my Tao Tao Paladin, I turn the engine on and it idles very high back wheel spinning fast. I could not tell you exactly how many RPM. I tried adjusting air/fuel and it did not stop from tire spinning. Idle screw all the way out did not help either. When I press the rear break it will stop the tire momentarily, then after 1 second of letting go the tire spins again. Help please, Thank you

Also on reconnecting the auto choke. I'm not 100% sure I connected it to the right harness but it fit and the only one I saw. lol

Your throttle cable is not adjusted right at the carb, it is already pulling on the cable and opening the butterfly: Alleyoop It should be like this: IT IS PROBABLY like this:

High RPM idle

No, its normal. I finally got it to idle earlier by running it awhile on kickstand and then adjusting air/fuel and idle; however, upon taking it on the road I noticed only a few times I stopped that the scooter would actually idle. The majority of times I stopped the bike was trying to accelerate so I had to hold both brakes. It was hard to slow for turns because the bike kept accelerating w/o my hand being on the throttle. SOMETIMES it would behave normally and I mean 3 or 4 times out of a hour ride.

Help please, Thank you That is NOT what you said here BUD, what you said above means your throttle is already pulling on the cable and opening the butterfley. That is why you have to explain in detail what it does and when. Now you changed from idle to running at high rpms. So if what you say is this: If the RPMS are going up and down on you and causing unexpected excelerations then it is running LEAN not enough fuel OR you have a bad air leak. Alleyoop
