Getting my "to-do" list together for spring upgrades. I'm going with Alley's recommendation of increasing the rear tires from 205/50-10 to 205/65-10 to increase top end and lower the rpm's at all speeds. Also to hopefully soften the ride a bit, the tires that came on the trike are stiffer than a wedding dick. I've lowered the pressure to 15psi and still bounce around like a Mexican jumping bean. The sidewalls must be made of the hardest rubber known to man. Bet I could lower the pressure to 5psi and the tires would look and ride the same as 30 psi. Anyhoo, here's what I'm seriously considering: .etrailer.com/comparison.aspx?pc=AM1HP52&pc2=AM1HP50" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.etrailer.com/comparison.aspx?pc=AM1HP52&pc2=AM1HP50I'd go with the Load Range B tire, thinking that the Range C would probably be worse than what I have now regarding lack of flex. Or would it? Also, what's the best bet to find a place to competently mount/balance these things? Regular tire store, ATV store, trailer store? Maybe just call the local golf course when they re-open and see where they have their golf cart tires installed? Any input appreciated! Tom

I took my old tires and new tires to JUST TIRES and they mounted them and balanced them. I have two cars and I buy my tires from them all the time and they did all the work and balance for GRATES!! They love my Trike (HEHE). And yes get the 910 lbs max load they are softer the higher the load rating is the harder the sidewalls are. Actually 910lbs load on our trikes is WAY OVER KILL but a heck of a lot nicer and softer than the ROCK HARD tires they come with. Just a F.Y.I the standard for a tire that is considered well built will take NO MORE THAN 3ozs of weight, if it needs more weight it is probably a SECOND type tire. My tires took 1 oz on one and 2 on the other. Alleyoop Don't remember if I ever put this up but here are some comparisons on the tires. The right one you can also get as well but that is HUGE(HAHA). Here are those tires on my Trike:

Thanks for the info Alley. With the larger diameter tires I'd like to delete the rear fenders (for appearance sake), but not sure if that is street legal in Michigan. Checked the SOS website & could find no helpful info. There is a State Police Post not far from here, guess I'll stop in and ask. If it IS legal, will get it in writing to carry with me. What a horrible, cold, snowy winter. It feels good to just discuss upcoming mods.

FWIW, riding two up on my Magnum, full tanks and even a little cargo puts me darn close to 1000 lb. On the smaller trikes I guess 910 will cut it.
