Hello all. Have a few questions about this cy150 I bought last month. Ive been trying to do the pdi and recommended upgrades before breaking it in. So far I have changed the gear oil and engine oil and replaced the draion plugs with magnetic plugs. The oil I put in is Rotella 15-40 Diesel because I saw a youtube vid and thats what they used.
Is it ok to use Diesel Oil?
Changed out the valve stems
Changed out the spark plug boot and plug
Changed the fuel line
Waiting for fuel filter , new clips, and vacuum line. Was told 3 feet was needed, but it looks like there is way more than that. I've got line to the petcock, carb and at least 2 canisters tied to either side of the frame. I also bought a new battery. It's a moto batt that is 12v 9A . I made a mistake when ordering because I got tje old battery model mixed up so this battery is 1/4 inch to tall and the cover doesnt fit over it. My old battery was 12V 7A.
Can I use this battery even though its a 9A?
Do I have to install the cover over the battery or is the floor mat ok or maybe screw a piece of plastic over the battery?
I got a waterproof blade style fuse that says up to 30 A fuse. Is that ok to use?
I couldnt find the airbox near the Cvt, but there is a filter below the seat. It looks like a small ring cake.
Is it recommended that I change that? If so, what is suggested?
Is there anything I missed besides changing the petcock?
Lastly I'd like to install the following items Cigarette lighter/adapter Alarm Stereo System LED light strips(i have 3 meters of cutable RGB 5050 SMD Lights that require 12v and 2 A per meter.
Do I need a fuse between each accessory?
Will my battery even be able to power everything and still perform its usual duties.
Thanks in advance for any and all help, advice, and critique
Rickb
Should all black rubber hoses be switched out Or just certain ones?

Is your scooter a diesel motor no then I would not use diesel oil. I would use air cooled 4 stroke motor oil. There is reasons why they make special oils.

I'm not sure what happened, but there were some answers posted to some of my questions. 1 of which was saying that the answer given by 46u on the diesel oil question was totally wrong. That post has since been deleted (the very next day I believe. Is that common practice here? It's been over a month and I still have not gotten any guidance.

Sir I apologize for the deletions but you haven't logged in since this thread was started by you over a month ago. There were some answers here that had nothing to do with answering your questions but rather just started a pissing match and I cleaned it all up.
Now to answer some of your questions.
Yes you can use that battery however I would put even some kind of home made cover on it to protect it from the weight of your feet and a good piece of plastic would do.
On the things you want to install electrically one needs to know that 150 charging systems are at best nominal and it doesn't take much to overload the system where you will not charge your battery and the only solution is to upgrade to a 11 pole 3 phase stator.
You'll not have a problem with the alarm electrically but the stereo may be too much if the wattage is too high, cig lighter OK unless again you plug too much wattage in it, phone charger should be ok. I would put the lighter socket in the LED's and then check to see how ell it's charging before I made a decision on the stereo?
30 amp fuse too big, use no more than a 20A but 15A is recommended.
On a good PDI change all Chinese hoses to quality American ones.
Rest of your PDI looks great. On the oil it's a subject of debate by all and one needs to use what they think is best to them and suits them, not going to get into the what oil is better than another, I have my likes and so do others, it's kind of like the old my Ford is better than your Chevy thing.
I will say this while I don't think the diesel oil is necessary because I see no advantages to it and it's for sure more expensive and it does have additives that are specific to diesel engines, just like one doesn't use a 4 cycle oil to mix into fuel for a 2 cycle engine as an example. I always recommend a good quality name brand oil, this engine is no more than a glorified lawn mower engine and to put $9 to $10 a quart oil in it is just throwing money away IMO.
The answer that was previously give on the other member being wrong on the oil had no meaning and reason to it, it was an answer to belittle another member and that's not tolerated here again I apologize for that. That member is no longer here and at other forums that he so rudely treated people. Had is answer had information that backed his assumption then it would have been left.
I hope this answers your questions and we're here to help.

Yep, you get into what oil should I use and you will get many different answers and opinions. I say just get some good brand 10Wx40 oil and not a problem you will be changing it every 500-1000 miles. I personally use 10W40 Castrol GTX in my scoot and 10W30 in my cars. Alleyoop

the diesel oil is a fleet service grade oil. it is heavy duty and higher detergent. it also tolerates heat better.
