hey guys!! I'm back! I just took a little break. Wires were about to encircle me & strangle me!!
I want to thank you all for the help you've given me on this old scoot of mine. & believe me, you
have helped immensely!
As to my earlier problems ( brake lights, starter, etc) That's all fixed now. Then, my other problem was
and still is the headlights stayed on no matter where the ignition switch is. I've just kept it unplugged
ever since. But I've also done some intense investigation. The tail light works exactly the way it should,
as well as the brake lights and starter.
Now, I bought an ignition switch and it doesn't do anything. I sent it back and the new one should be here
tomorrow. As for the front pieces, the headlights are STILL on, but I've traced the wiring all the way back.
Remember when I was having trouble with a yellow, chewed up, unattached wire in my headlight bundle? Well, it's a three wire
bundle (wires soldered together). Wires are blue, white & green in front and green/yellow, yellow &green.
in the back. I've tried every combination of the wires present & STILL I can't get the darn headlights to
turn off.
Now, as for the pics, first one is the headlight plug in, notice the yellow wire, That's the sucker I,vie been chasing. My headlight wires are
blue, green & green/yellow.
Pic # 2 is my left hand switching cluster. Notice the hi/low beam switch on top. this is where the Hadleigh wires go. At this point
there are two wires blue and white. Perhaps this might be the culprit?
lastly, we have the input wiring that lives in the tail light housing. Notice the yellow wire. I happen to get full continuity on this
wire all the way up front where it has been living inside an insulating tube for 3 yrs.

Get a 12V Light Tester they are only a couple of bucks to find why there is always juice to the headlights. So if you traced the wires to the LIGHT SWITCH on the handgrip I would think that the switch is still making contact with the ground in the switch.
From the looks of that switch the middle position would shut everything off is that right? My LIght switch is on my right handgrip and all the way to the RIGHT shuts everything off. Put the switch in the middle and the instrument lights and running lights come on. Push it all the way to the LEFT and the headlights come on.

Question? What wires are soldiered together? Colors? It's very apparent that the wiring has been compromised on this scooter. Also the switch should be lo/hi and not off. Very few scooter ever have the headlight off, it's either in the lo or hi beam position. Also the other switch on the one you posted, is it a spring loaded switch that when you press it, goes back on it's own? Reason I ask is if it does just that then it's the what is called passing light switch. It will go to the black wire on the ignition and when pressed sends voltage to the hi beam lights. Here is a generic wiring diagram that matches over 90% of the scooters out there. Start using it to trace wires. The pink on the headlight diagram is your white wire and goes to the lo beam lights. The loose yellow wire you mention is the headlight feed wire and should only have voltage when the scooter is running. I see wires in picture three that have been crimped together with auto parts crimp connectors that are not Chinese. It's time to start putting the wires back where they belong, follow this diagram and you'll succeed. The passing light switch is not on this diagram but if that switch is like I asked I'll tell you how it goes.
