Don't forget to test it, like I said get a hose and stick it on the fuel inlet on the carb then hold it sideways like in the picture push the float inward to close it GENTLY not hard and blow into the fuel inlet and no air should come out. Then you will know IT WILL shut off the fuel from overflowing the carb bowl. Alleyoop

think I found the problem. the overflow hole is coming right out of the bottom of the carburetor. so any and all gas that is in the bowl drained out... I plugged the hole and put some gas into it. however my feul level is way too low as i was thinking it was too high because it was coming out so i lowered it. I plan on getting that right again. plugging the overflow(i know that not necessarily the best idea but what other choice do i have?) and crossing my fingers. Thanks for all of your help

NO NO NO, the bottom of the carb bowl is YOUR CARB DRAIN that is not the overflow. The overflow comes out near the top of the carb. You can plug up the CARB DRAIN that is fine BUT DO NOT PLUG UP the OVERFLOW near the top of the CARB or the outlet for it inside the CARB BOWL.
What other choice you have "IS DO IT RIGHT". Alleyoop

well I guess i plugged the one at the bottom and that is right it it is the drain.a I adjusted the float and plugged it and if it ran any better i would think its new. So I suppose that is the fix. If it was the overflow that the pipe that goes uo into the bowl if broken off and has no trace left. I think i know what the overflow must be. i got some fine tuning to do and ill see what I can find. Im used to the much easier carbs without egr accelerator pumps and decelerators and all that jazz. Thanks again.

So what are you saying, re-setting the float fixed the overflow problem? Are you all fixed up or do you have another problem? Alleyoop

well fixed up on that issue. now i have another... my blinkers and gas guage are not working(basically nothing turns on with the key) i have a wiring diagram but it is all loomed together and hard to work with. would this thing have anything to do with this issue? i have no idea what it is. and there are two light green wires comeing out of it that are linked together and a red one that are not hooked up. then there is a black one that is hooked up to a blank spot on the ignition(has some duct tape on it, not sure if there was a issue before or if that is "aftermarkrt") got any advice for this one?

Have you got a Volt Meter or a 12V Light Tester? The green are usually GROUNDS The RED is probably coming from the battery that is supposed to be hooked up to the IGNITION Switch, then when you turn the KEY ON it passes voltage to the BLACK WIRE which is most likely going to the rest of the system. Light Tester couple a bucks: Volt meter at Harbor Freight 6.00:
