Just finished putting the Magnum to bed for the winter, and noticed a hole on the CVT cover that looks like it needs a bolt -- or not. I pulled one of the other CVT bolts and tried it in that hole, and it threaded in to a point, but then got tight and I didn't want to crank too hard on it -- in the other bolt hole it slips in for a good inch or so before it encounters threads. So I don't know if there's supposed to be a bolt in there, or if it's one of those "Oh, on other models that's where the framistat bolts on" situations. Anybody know the answer? It's the hole pretty much at the center of this picture, next to the tube-in-a-metal-spring-sheath.

Don't forget some bolts are longer than others on the CVT. But to really find out take the cover off and see if behind that hole it goes into the casing if it does then there would be a bolt there. But do not fret over it the bolt holding the DRAIN HOSE is right there and besides you have plenty of bolts holding the CVT cover on. On my Trike It takes 8 bolts but I only put on 6 I don't bother with the front two, it is just a cover and that is all. Alleyoop

OK, thanks. I won't be doing anything else to it until next May anyway, and at that time I had planned to pull the cover to replace the gear oil and have a look at the belt. At that point I daresay it will all come clear.
