I washed my scoot yesterday and when I was done I cranked it up and took it for a short ride. As I was riding it I checked all the switches to make sure they worked and low and behold my turn signal is not flashing in either direction. When I move the switch either to the left or right the front and rear signal lights come on but don't flash. I'm thinking I might get lucky and when everything dries out it will work this evening. When I was washing it I was thinking maybe I should be more careful around the switches but I figured everything should be waterproof......right? LOL all other switches seem to be working ok......dim and bright front headlight and the horn........

Newbie opinion, but if they light but don't flash, I'd be more inclined to suspect water in the flasher unit, not the switch. The switch seems to be letting current through as it should, but the flasher is not interrupting that current as intended. I have no idea where the flasher is located -- somewhere under the front plastic, I assume -- but I'd find it, pull it, blow it dry with compressed air, including the socket, re-insert it and see what happens.

Sounds like a reasonable approach.......might give it a day in my hot garage(live in New Orleans)to see if it dries out on its own......check it this evening.....thanks for the reply......

New Orleans??!! Well, that explains it then! Spanish moss has grown around the flasher unit! Just joshing, of course, but your environment is way, way different from our dry climate in AZ/NM. If moisture gets in, I imagine it takes more effort to dry everything out again. Out here in the desert, just counting to ten will generally do it.

What about your emergency flashers? If they work normally, I would lean towards your turn signal switch. But if your emergency flashers are also on steady, check the flasher unit. The gray wire from the flasher feeds both the turn signal and flasher switch simultaneously.

First mistake is NEVER NEVER wash a scooter with a hose, SCOOTERS do not like water they are not waterprove. You hand wash a scoot. Alleyoop
