In my first 1000 miles on a Magnum, have posted in other threads about speedo discrepancies. When speedo says 40, GPS says about 35-36. Since I didn't know which gadget to trust, had wifey follow me with her car today, and her car speedo agrees with the GPS -- about 10-12% less than the Magnum speedo. Would guess this may be true of other Ice Bear trikes as well. Just a FYI.
Secondarily, that would mean top end for my Magnum in my high-altitude (6000'+) environment is somewhere in the LOW 50's. I'm fine with that, not into popping wheelies, just want others to know what they can expect. Have read elsewhere on this forum that you lose a HP or two for every thousand feet of altitude.

Also just so you know the faster you go the worst the Speedo Lies(HAHA). You can expect your speed to be up to 20% slower than what the speedo registers. Alleyoop

More on that horsepower thing, went out and researched it and it would appear that at my summer altitude, 6500' average, my "19 HP" Magnum is somewhere around 13 HP actual. Not complaining, fact of scientific/engineering life. Dragging 600 lb of scoot and 200 lb of Ellpee up and down the New Mexico mountains, "high performance" is not the first phrase that comes to mind.
