Headlights burning out By inca32 (Read 1,059 times)

];Sunny 50qt-4 has burned out 4 35/35 12volt headlight bulbs to day. They blow almost as soon as started.battery is fully charged at 12.8 volts. No increased voltage (12.6) at the battery with engine running. Headlight gets bright when engine is revved then burnout. Drove scooter for a year and a half with the headlight switch on the dim setting because I thought this turned the headlight off and flipped it to the bright position to turn the headlight on at night with no problems until yesterday when it started to blow headlight bulbs only. Were should I start looking?

Sounds like your regulator isn't working. Did you check your voltage at the headlight socket? It shouldn't really be higher than 13.5-13.9 volts most of the time

No but will check voltage at the headlight socket in the morning.

AC voltage at 4000 RPM at headlight harness low beam 18 and high 25+. Not charging at battery.
