I joined Photobucket ONLY because I wanted to be able to post photos here. Now I get annoying EMail from them even though I've set all my notification preferences to "nothing, not ever, no matter what." I can find nothing on their site that would solve my problem or let me send them a nastygram about it. Certainly not the fault of this forum, but does anybody know how to shut that cr@p down, or another similar photo-handling forum I can switch to that does NOT play the spam game?

Thanks JR, I just sent them a Bitchogram, and thanks FFlintstone, I may look into that. I already use something called "Ghostery" that weeds out popup ads and the like, and I have ways of blocking EMail from specified senders, but it seems like people always find ways around anything anybody programs.

If you use Chrome ,you can install AdBlock, keeps most of the spam and popup stuff off--good luck, happy trails

I got an apologetic reply from them today saying I had been removed from the spam list but it might take a few days to kick in. Ri-i-iight! We'll see how it goes; meanwhile I have them set as junk in Thunderbird, which should give me another level of defense.

Yup,junk works fine in Thunderbird--also with Thunderbird email, you can look inside a message and see what is in it without opening it --it keeps spam to a minimum--if you haven't tried it,select a message in your inbox ,don't open it,just select it ( highlight)then look up at the top for 'view' click on it,a menu box drops down, click on 'message source'and it will give you all the info on that message and the sender--lots of times a spam sender will get lucky and use a name you are familiar with and you open it before you think about it and that is how you get more spam--good luck, fflintstone
