okay guys i am new here and have a couple questions. i have read a couple of other postabout the coolant problems i have followed the instructions for how to "burp" the collant system from thescooterprofessor.proboards.com/thread/24/250a-coolant-drain-location-radiator my problem is even after it sits from burping and no more coolant will go inside the radiator cap the fan still wont come on. andonce the temp goes above the red zone it starts to go down really fr then up really fast and spill collant everywhere. am i doing something wrong?? i drove today for about 8 miles and the fan worked for about 5 miles then it cut offf and just ran hot so i know the fan works i just cantget it to keep working.

It's time to check the thermostat and if you find no issues there take a look at the water pump. Did the coolant circulate when you have the cap off when burping? Like I said in the burping process the slightest amount of air makes them act stupid. But if it's spitting out coolant that's a sign of either one of the above item I mentioned. JR

When you say circulate what do you mean? The coolant will do this bubble stuff for a while then it goes up and spits out coolant all over the place then goes down and I give it a sec then it go up again and spits coolant out just as bad. Should the coolant circulate like liquid in a blender? If it should mines really don't do that at all.

What was your idea of 'burping'? Did you actually put your hands on the hoses and pump them a few times to force the air out of them. I did that to mine when first bought and have never had any problems at all. Sitting and then nearly exploding says something is blocking the flow.
Is it flowing? With the radiator cap off can you see the coolant moving about while the motor is running? It should be visible if it is happening. .

It looks more like a pot of boiling water in there and not much movement. I took it for a ride today hoping it wouldfix it self but coolant started to bust from the bottom from the extra coolant tank the one next to the gas cap uuuuggghhhh I don't know what's going on

Then the next step is to check the thermostat, if it is doing this you are not circulating the coolant.
We have a how to in the tech section on how to test a thermostat.

Part to fly in if bad? Where do you live? Most any auto store can likely provide the proper size thermostat to you. Hard to find any town with more than a few people in it that doesn't have a handy source for engine stuff.

They even act more silly with no thermostat, expect the temp gauge not to move. But if the thermostat is good then we need to check the waterpump. declare
