My new scooter was over heating and y did a jump at the contacts of the temperature sensor, and the radiator fan start working. Now the pointer is at the middle of the range, between cold & hot. I think the scooter is working good. My question is: What's wrong, the temperature sensor or the thermostat?

First of all did the fan ever come on or do what we call cycle on and off? I'm sure you are referring to the "thermoswitch" on the bottom of the radiator? The thermo sensor is the unit that goes to the temp gauge. If the scooter fan would not run at all then it's one of two things, either the thermo switch is indeed bad or if you have recently drained the cooling system it has air in the system. Sometimes this can happen even if you haven't drained it. Air in the cooling system will make it act stupid, the fan will not run and it'll overheat. We have a how to burp it in the tech section. You can also test the thermo switch by pulling it and using a meter set to ohms and putting it in a pan of heated water. The switch should fully close at around 167F. If the thermostat is fully shut then the scooter will not circulate any coolant, the fan will not run and it'll get hot very quickly. D;8 JR
