We are having our first rain here in N TX since I got my PST150 Viking. Turns out the angle of the exhaust is letting the rain to the pipe! I am unable to cover or garage it and really don't want to put a cup or "tractor flapper" on it so I am going to install a 1" copper T on a 1" extension on the end. I have minor concerns over pressure, (that's why the T instead of an elbow. Question is: will the exhaust get hot enough to melt the solder joint and does this sound like a workable plan?

No idea till you try it, might work on the outlet.
