Moest of you know I've had issues with jerking at 60+, but recently its been doing pretty good, every once in awhile I get a jerk, Well today coming to work in the rain anything over 40mph it was ating nuts as soon as the rain slowed down it did seem as bad I just don't understand what it could be, but here is a clue. Richard, kind of sounds like you were getting some rain into the airbox and making its way to the carb. Is your airbox bood and tight at the airbox end of carb and all the little pollution hoses on tight on the air box?? Barnie

Yep, scooters do not like water either do motorcycles. And yes WAA-WAA was getting into the air intake and motors do not run on WAA-WAA Alleyoop

Found the problem ;D clean and oiled my air filter some time ago, that was the first thing I check when I got home today. Yep, Turned out I put the air filter in wrong I put filter in first and then the metal mash over it filter was sucked into my intake (A senior citizen moment

Richard, we've paid our dues and we are entitled to those moments. I always tell my wife when I goof up something "I'm old". There is a slight possibility that may be part of ur hiccup, starved for air at high speed?? Probably not but see how it runs now. I am still leaning towards ur clutch and belt for that. Barnie

Richard, you were more than likely getting just enough air to engine when not raining, but after it started to rain the air got to dense from the humidity to be enough for the engine. Glad that was a simple fix, I like those kind. (and we blame the Chinese ;D ;D) Barnie

Well Barnie, coming home today scoot ran great and even going down hills 60+ no jerking ;D I think it was a combination of things, first I know for sure the fuel pump was shot, as soon as the new pump was hook up, she fired, second, air filter was put in wrong As soon as I put the air filter in correct, no more jerking. I think the demon finally left my scoot P.S. Still a little work to be done in the CVT area

Richard, that sure is encouraging news on hiccup. Some of the smallest things can upset these engines. I think I would try just a belt on the transmission and see if that helps with your clutch engaging dilemma. You know how sometimes 1 thing will take care of 2. If it runs ok for couple days I would say u got the gremlin. If your belt is slipping any it could cause your clutch to want to engage in & out. I have my idle set at 1900 rpm and every now and then I can feel my clutch wanting to kick in and out. Your clutch culd be ok, just belt causing goofy stuff. Barnie

Barnie, That's a good idea you have there I'll order belt soon and when it comes I'll take clutch and variator off and clean & grease ;D that way I can make sure clutch springs are good and also inspect my variator too. I'll keep you updated.
