Hey guys! New scooter owner with a brand new 2012 Taotao Powermax 150 & so far love how it performs! Of course did regular maintenance but like any other power hungry villians, I want to squeeze more out of it before it pops! Muahahahahaha! I'm starting to get into modding it slowly, so far I have replaced: - Regular CDI, spark plug & regular coil with "Blue Racing CDI", another regular spark plug & "Orange" performance coil from ebay. Result: noticeably more aggressive acceleration response. ;D - 13/40 final gear ratio with 15/37 from Scrappydog in NV. Result: take off response is a little slower which is expected but now my max RPM is no longer at 7500, it sits at 6000 & during deceleration the rear wheel does make this low "rrrrrrrrrrrr" sound so I don't know if it's a "breaking in" period or not? But so far nothing else noticeable that might be wrong. Ordered but not installed: - 835 20 30 kevlar belt from "Jerry Baker" in CA, they are great people with very affordable pricing. Possible result: longer belt life than regular belts. - 11g variator weight sliders from Scrappydog in NV. Possible result: maybe it will bring back my RPM to 7500 again, hopefully... Aside from above, everything else is stock or came with the scooter. Any suggestions from you fabulous scooter loving people would be greatly appreciated! I know this is my first scooter in my live but I love this f***ing thing!

The gear noise make sure you have enough tranny gear oil in there. Heavier gear oil helps with the noise the heavier oil sticks to the gears better than the thinner tranny gear oil. Alleyoop
