Brand new at this. 2010 YY250T jonway motor quit. Rebuilt and instralled. However I did not remove it and now have huge issues with all the hoses (vac, emission, water etc.) I think I have the vac figured out on the carb to fuel pump and the whatever keeps it from back firing on decel. Engine does start. First issue is water comes out of a port on the right side of carb?? What hooks up to that? Also the big hoses that come from the crankcase to the air box. Lots of ports on that thing.

Welcome to the forum! If you've got water coming from the side of the carb then it means it has the hoses hooked up that circulate through the radiator and back. I haven't seen this system hooked up in a long time. On the original helix engine the theory is that with a cold carb the water will circulate to keep the carb warm because it has been know on occasions when all factors are just right for the gasoline in the carb to actually get so cold that the carb would freeze. Look for a line coming from the radiator neck area and going to one port on the little carb and then returning to the same area. The water simply circulates to the carb and back to the radiator neck. In fact you can even plug the system off if you want. As far as the other hoses to the crankcase area they should hook up to the air box as they are vent hoses but a picture of exactly which ones you are talking about is very helpful. JR

[replyingto=admin]JR[/replyingto]Thanks JR. I'm slowly getting it figured out. However I don't see anything that hooks up to water system that will fit that tiny port on the carb. Right now I have it plugged. Another stumper is I think I have a larger hose that attaches to the water neck housing and goes to the carbon vapor jug?? I hooked it up and no negative consequence so far. It is on the bottom side of the radiator cap so it should be flowing all the time. Thanks again JL

I know of no water hose going to the carbon canister? Can you take some pictures of your hose layout and we can figure out what goes to where? Cruiser has this exact scooter and he can direct you for sure.

That other Hose maybe the one that goes to the OVERFLOW TANK. There should be no water going to anywhere else except to the motor for cooling, just like a car has a hose by the Neck goes to the OVERFLOW tank. Alleyoop

I think I know the hose you are talking about. It looks like it runs from that filler neck to the carb, then to the case into the thermostat housing? I have included some pictures below. Jr, your saying we can plug this off at the thermostat and the filler neck then and remove both the "extra" hoses?
