okkk... so i posted a month, or so about how my fan had stopped working.
now it is summer, and in the 100's everyday, and on the way home from class the other day my scoot overheated, so now its time to re-wire it and see if that will solve the problem.
My question to you guys, is how do i troubleshoot/find the problem? i have a voltage meter, but is that what i need? where do i strike the voltage meter to see if the wire is working correctly?
and iffff the wiring is the problem what kind do i need? and how do i re wire my fan.
thanks, ian
scoot on!

give Jr a pm he has all the wiring diagrams for these things with the switch on and motor warm up you should be able to unplug the wires from the fan motor and check the voltage on them with your meter it should be battery voltage if not then it is ether to switch is not working to turn the fan on or you have a problem getting power to the fan if you have power on the wires then i say your fan motor is the problem or the fan is running backwards and not moving the air in the right direction or you may have a clogged rad not cooling the water right

i gave him a PM and he sent me the diagrams, but its sooo confusing i have no idea... mine would stay on the whole time from when my key was in the "on" position till i turned my key off.... so i will unplug the wires and test them and go from there. where would i find a clogged rad??

It's not as hard as you think, other than possible difficulties GETTING AT things. I'll send you a lengthy PM in awhile; in the meantime, buy or make yourself a couple jumpers with wire and alligator clips, and if you don't have a voltmeter/multimeter, buy or borrow one. You'll need it again and again.
