Agree idle screw ON THE VERTICAL 244CC ENGINE is easy. Raise seat, open compartment where the battery lives (2 screws), and there it is, awaiting your Philips screwdriver. Guessing not so easy for folks with the horizontal 257cc engine.
richardthescooter3: what? your carb is not mounted to anything? Post market name, want to be sure not to by one of those. Nothing worse than a free-floating carb. ;>)

Wow, that fuel ratio screw is sure in an inconvenient location. Glad mine seems to be correctly set, at least for the present.

I worked on scoot last night, I notice the main trouble with these carbs is that there is very little area for the clamp to hold, the back side of the carb where you connect the air box hose on, you would be lucky to have a 1/4 inch to hold the hose on, there should be a way to extend the length of that area so you would have more to clamp to. (a very poor setup)

Interesting gizmo, Richard. What's it called, and now does it work? Twisting handle turns screw bit, I presume; some kind of flex drive? Got a link by any chance? Just looking at it I can think of half a dozen situations where my knuckles would have benefited greatly from having one of those.

OK..........after the wife and I arrived home from a nice weekend in Gulf Breeze, Fl I thought I would head out to the garage and tackle what I thought would be a simple idle adjustment. So after opening the seat I found the little trap door being held down with one screw. Opened that up and did not see anything that looked like an idle adjustment screw. I currently have the battery cover off too..........so is this access door to the idle adjustment screw there or is supposed to be the one I looked in behind/aft of the battery compartment? PS: I have beenin ship design for 38 years so you might see me using some nautical terms like forward/aft/atwartships......stuff like that!! ;D

On my Roketa the little one-screw trap door gives access to the spark plug, but for access to the idle screw take off the battery cover and you'll be able to see the top of the carb.
