I just took receipt of a brand new shiny red yy250t and have read all the post related to changing all of the fluids. After draining the old oil and doing the initial refill I started the engine to circulate the new oil for a few minutes. After topping off the oil I went to start the scoot again and am getting nothing. I am holding down the brake lever but when I press the start button nothing happens. All the running lights, hazard lights, horn, turn signals are operating properly but I cannot start the engine. Do I have a blown fuse.......I started to check them but ran out of time today.......if any of you know of other reasons that would cause this please let me know. I really appreciate this excellent wealth of knowledge......Thanks.......Dave

If it's not the kill switch then check the fuse/s. If this is the vertical 244cc engine it will have a fuse box under the seat, if it is the linhai it'll have a 15A fuse by the battery and a 20A on the starter relay.
If the 20A fuse is blown on the starter relay the scooter will be silent. Since you said you have accessories working it means either the kill switch in the non-run position or a blown 15A fuse. Since the brake light and the starter relay are tied together on the same circuit then if it has a fuse box the brake light fuse will be bad or not making a good connection.

It's tough getting old isn't it! So I have another post out there about the proper break in for these engines. I am planning on taking the scoot out to the country and drive it like someone is chasing me.....do that for 20 or so miles then dump and refresh the oil......is that the correct way? Also does anyone have a recommendation for a hitch style carrier for a YY250T?

If you changed out the oil during your PDI then I wouldn't change it again for at least 300 miles.
