No, the one I bought is air-drive, don't know the foot-pounds offhand (it and the booklet are up at son-in-law's house at the moment). Will try your suggestions next time I'm in a mechanical mood. When we were trying everything we could think of, we were thinking that grabbing the bell with either a really big strap wrench or pipe wrench, then the breaker bar for the nut, might work, but we had neither of those wrenches so we were just speculating. I certainly don't want to try anything that would damage the bell.
BTW, anybody know the appropriate torque setting for putting the nut back on, assuming I ever get it off? I was thinking of taking off the CVT cover, driving it down to the closest mechanic and paying them $20 to just break the nut free and then torque it right back on, after which I would hopefully be able to get it off myself at home.
